Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a reservation?

Nope! A reservation is only necessary for parties of 10 or more. No reservations on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday or Holidays.

Do I need paddling experience?

Not at all. Our boats are very beginner friendly and the staff will go over everything you need to know.

Will I get wet?

While you are unlikely to flip over and be submerged, you will get wet from your waist down. We launch you in knee deep water so dress accordingly!

What do I do with my stuff?

We do not store personal items such as keys, cell phones, and wallets. We have lockers and dry bags available for rent as well as open-face cubbies for non-valuables.

Do you have changing rooms?

No. We recommend changing into your paddling attire before you arrive.

Are kids allowed to paddle?

Children must be at least 30 pounds to fit into our smallest life jacket. You may bring their own, as long as it is type III coast guard approved. Kids aged 17 and under must have a parent or guardian sign off on their waiver form.

Are dogs allowed?

We are dog friendly! All dogs must wear a PFD while on the water. Bring your own or rent a Ruffwear Float Coat from us for $5.00

Are food and drinks allowed?

Yes. We also sell bottled water and Gatorade in case you forget.

Is alcohol allowed?

Alcohol is allowed except during Panther Island Pavilion events. No glass is allowed.

Where do I park?

Metered parking is available at 480 N. Taylor St. and is free after 6pm and on Saturday and Sunday. Free parking is available at the main Panther Island Pavilion parking lot at 395 Purcey St. A short walk east down the Trinity Trail will get you to our trailer.

Can I launch my own kayak?

Yes! Panther Island is a free launch location for personal watercraft.
